WHAT WE ARE SEEKING

We have assignments available to help our insurance carrier in Inland Marine Underwriter – Jewelers Block positions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the lead technical underwriter for complex Jewelers Block, Fine Art and Specie risks, exercising broad underwriting authority and independent judgment to evaluate, price, and structure profitable accounts.
  • Analyze sophisticated exposures, develop creative underwriting solutions, and confidently write risks that require advanced expertise, disciplined analysis, and sound risk management.
  • Build, manage, and optimize a profitable portfolio by applying pricing strategies, monitoring portfolio performance, evaluating loss trends, and adapting underwriting strategy to changing market conditions.
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with wholesale brokers, retail agents, carrier partners, and direct dealer channels to expand profitable distribution opportunities and enhance market presence.
  • Provide technical leadership by developing underwriting guidelines, authority frameworks, policy language, and best practices that support the firm’s evolving underwriting philosophy and long-term growth strategy.
  • Ensure underwriting files, referrals and documentation meet the highest standards of technical quality, regulatory compliance, delegated authority requirements, carrier audits, and bordereaux reporting.
  • Mentor and coach underwriters by sharing technical expertise, strengthening underwriting discipline, and fostering the development of the next generation of specialty underwriting talent.

TO BECOME A WORK-AT-HOME VINTAGE EXPERT, WE REQUIRE

  • 25 years of full-time work experience
  • 10 most recent years of specialty P&C underwriting experience with deep technical expertise in Jewelers Block, Fine Art or closely adjacent Inland Marine
  • CPCU, AU or comparable professional designations
